• THE LOUISIANA SOCIETY OF MAYFLOWER DESCENDANTS WELCOMES YOU!

  • We are a community of people who have descended from those who traveled from England to America on the ship, Mayflower in 1620.

Over a hundred years later, In 1897, a national society, the General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD), was created to honor the memory of the Pilgrims who established Plymouth colony in what was then called the northern part of Virginia.

The General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD) is the umbrella organization over state and international societies of which we are one.

If you've ever wondered if you might be a Mayflower descendant, you can find out by tracing your genealogy. Today there are tens of millions of individuals descended from the brave souls who traveled to America on the Mayflower in 1620.

It is the goal of the Louisiana society to join together as many relatives as we are able who share our heritage.

It is our mission to perpetuate the story of the Pilgrims and to educate and preserve the memory of those who were such an important part of the American story. We welcome new members!
